Nissan Unveils New Pathfinder Design
The Nissan Pathfinder, the SUV adored by families across the U.S., will feature a brand new look for its 2013 model year. This week, Nissan premiered this year's new Pathfinder at the Detroit Auto Show- a concept that is very similar to the vehicle that will hit showroom floors across America, like the one at Coon Rapids Nisan, located in Coon Rapids, MN. The new Pathfinder is one of an amazing twenty new or redesigned products Nissan plans to bring to the U.S. over the course of the next two years.
The Pathfinder's previous body-on-frame design has been replaced with a sleeker, curvier, and more lightweight design. This isn't the only change to the new Nissan vehicle, however. Although the Pathfinder has always been praised for its sporty look and great towing capacity, its fuel economy ratings have been less impressive. To create a less fuel-thirsty model, Nissan has added a a continuously variable automatic transmission and smaller-displacement V6 engine in the mid-size SUV, decreasing the Pathfinder's weight and acquiring a 25 percent increase in combined fuel economy. Better still, the Pathfinder has only a slightly decreased towing capacity. Thenew Pathfinder will borrow heavily from the 2012 Nissan Murano, and it will include an innovative 4WD system and a comfy, roomy cabin.
