Are you chewing your nails in anticipation of the new 2013 Nissan Altima? Good news; you won't have to wait much longer! Production for the vehicle has officially begun at the brand's Smyrna, Tennessee factory. The 2013 Altima marks over twenty years of U.S. Altima production and represents the brand's successful evolution of the Altima from a somewhat awkward-looking auto to one of the best-selling models in the United States.
The 2002 model Altima, in particular, played a key role in the brand's success. Though this Nissan Altima made its debut alongside the new version of the iconic Nissan Z sports car, it was still considered extremely effective at reestablishing a sense of sportiness and futuristic design to the Japanese auto brand.
The Nissan Altima is currently in its fifth-generation, and it's expected to make its way to U.S. dealerships very soon- by the end of the summer, in fact. The 2013 Altima will offer convenience, technology, and comfort features usually seen in pricier vehicles, and it will attain up to 38 mpg on the highway. Two engines are available, both of which feature an Xtronic continuously variable transmission.
